Paul Barton

Paul is a self taught wood turner / carver who has been working with wood for over 5 years. Paul operates out of his studio in Montmorency and uses timber removed from the local area.

Paul is constantly exploring form and often bleaches his pieces so form can become the focus rather than the grain.  Influence for Paul’s work comes from the classic Urns and Vessels of the ancient Greeks and Egyptians.

You can find Paul’s work exhibited in several of the galleries in the local area and he has been selected to enter the Nillumbik prize in the last two years.

Paul has work in private collections across Australia and the World including acquisitions made by the council of Nillumbik.
