Kirrily Hammond

Kirrily Hammond’s practice equally covers painting, printmaking and drawing and is directly inspired by her surroundings. Over the last few years she has continued to develop and explore her lyrical imagery, which combines specific sites and hazy memories. Study and travel experiences emerge in evocative images of the landscape that suggest the inner world of imagination and intuition. Hammond’s enigmatic and dreamlike images invite silent contemplation as they explore the intricacies of human interactions and personal experience.

Kirrily studied at Canberra and Glasgow Schools of Art, graduating in 1997, and completed a Masters at the University of Melbourne in 2002. She was awarded the Harold Wright Scholarship to study the prints & drawings collection of the British Museum in 2005. Kirrily has been exhibiting her work since 1995 and her work is held in Wollongong University, the Australian National University, Latrobe Regional Gallery and the Warrnambool Art Gallery Collections.
