Caroline Hall

Caroline is a contemporary landscape artist whose predominant mediums are watercolour, pastel and mixed media.  Her major interest is in the elements of the physical world, both natural and man-made and more particularly the forces that constantly operate to modify it.  She attempts to capture the fleeting, fragile moments of great beauty which co-exist in our world with the arresting effects of destruction, degradation, fire and flood.  The formation of these deceptively simple, ethereal images is facilitated by the use of a minimalist watercolour technique with or without ink and resist.  This process, at once joyful and unpredictable, is thus well suited to depicting “landscape experiences”.

Caroline has been under the tutelage of notable watercolourists Anthony Sum (East-West Art) and Tony Smibert (Tasmania) and has exhibited regularly in Rural and Regional Group Exhibitions since 1999, gaining various prizes for watercolour landscapes.
