Linda has been a studio ceramist for over fifteen years and has exhibited throughout Australia. Her functional range was awarded the Harold Hughan prize in 2003 and also won a commendation in 2007. Works from her current series of pods were purchased for a private collection held in South Africa and also the Nillumbik Art collection.
Linda’s latest pieces which are pod like in form are sculptural; they combine designs inspired by nature, with signature features used in previous works. The pods depict and narrate the development and progression of her personal journey with clay. They are wheel thrown using Southern Ice porcelain, altered, carved and refilled. Other techniques used include resist work, piercing, sanding and polishing the porcelain. They are fired in oxidation to 1300oC.
