Debbie Robinson

Debbie is a Melbourne artist whose recent work has concentrated on the notion of modern motherhood and the increasing conflict between domestic responsibilities and the desire to achieve individual goals. Composition is an important factor in her work, as is the play between positive and negative space, gloss and matt surfaces and the mediums of drawing and painting.

Debbie completed a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree from RMIT in 2002 and is now undertaking her Masters of Art Curatorship at Melbourne University.  Group shows have included ‘Displacement and Isolation’ at the McCulloch Gallery and the ‘The Window’ at Ballarat Fine Art Gallery. Debbie has also been a finalist in The Churchie for Emerging Artists, The Poimena Art Award, The Banyule Prize and the ‘She’ competition for International Women’s Day.
