Jan Neil

Jan has been working as a professional artist since moving to Melbourne in 1980.  At that time Jan was working exclusively in watercolour, followed by silk screen printing until 1998, when she commenced painting in the current style. Collage materials, sand paper, canvas and fly-wire are used to build up texture before the paint is applied.

Originally purely a landscape painter, Jan's paintings have gradually become more abstracted and deal with an emotional response to the elements of the land rather than the actual colour of the landscape.  Jan has completed many corporate commissions, and has exhibited widely within Australia, as well as Hong Kong, Canada, UK and the USA.  Her paintings hang in many collections, both public and private.
