Deborah has been working as a ceramicist, sculptor, and printmaker, making her living as an artist for the past 25 years. She is best known for “Angel” the large sculpture that stood in the moat of the National Gallery of Victoria, relocated to Birrarung Marr in 2006.
Other public sculptures include “Ophelia”, located at Southgate, used as the Face of Melbourne for 4 years; “Spirit of Nillumbik”, located in the Eltham Town Square; and “Spirit of Enquiry”, a large mural wrapping itself around the Union Court at the Australian National University in Canberra. Deborah’s most recent monumental work, “Portal to Another Time and Place”, stands 5 metres high and is temporarily located in the sculpture walk in the grounds of Werribee Mansion.
Deborah is known for her absolute commitment to her carreer as an artist, and to debunk the belief that this is not possible - it is possible!
